What is Trail Running? May 03

Trail running is different from road running and track running.  Trail running is taking place on hiking trails.  The most common is on single track trails.  One of the specific characteristics of single track trails is that they are most of the time inaccessible by the road except at the trails’ end.  Trail running have different terrains which includes mountains, forests, hills, deserts and narrowing passages.

The variations of trail running is as much as the variations of runners.  There are many people who prefer trail running as part of their daily training and exercises.  Others spend weeks doing this activity.  The dnumber of people participating in trail running is increasing.  Cross country running trip is done in short period of time and it covers long distances.  Just in 2006, there are more than 6.7 million trail runners in the US and 40 million around the world.

Trail running is very good for the body, in fact any sort of running.  It is good for the joints and ligaments.  However, it is also important that runners wear the appropriate shoes for trail running and that is trail running shoes.  This kind of running shoe will provide the necessary support to ensure safety while doing the activity.
